The Copper and Nickel Mark

Aurubis AG has succesfully obtained the certification according to the sustainability seal 'The Copper Mark' and 'The Nickel Mark' for Aurubis Olen. The Copper Mark is a leading quality assurance system to promote responsible production practices in the metallic raw materials industry and covers environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The Nickel Mark focuses on nickel and its responsible production.

With these certifications, Aurubis Olen reinforces its commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices. The assessment covered the following areas:

Environmental protection and sustainable use of resources
Responsible sourcing of raw materials
Human rights and labor rights
Health and safety
Community engagement and stakeholder involvement

Aurubis Olen is the world’s first smelter to be certified in accordance with the new Copper Mark Chain of Custody Standard.

Aurubis continues to expand its pioneering role in certified metal production through the Copper Mark

Aurubis has now successfully completed the Copper Mark assurance process for its site in Olen as well.
